Believe Institute

Believe Institute

The Believe Institute is a leadership training body that exists to empower the next generation of leaders through positive education and youth development.

One of the aims of the Believe Institute is to partner with local governments to implement programs that assist in achieving the Education Department’s objectives.

We understand the "youth bulge" phenomenon across the Pacific, but we see it as an opportunity rather than an obstacle. Because of the large proportion of youth in society, we are uniquely positioned to shape mindsets and culture while such a large portion of the population is in their formative years. Youth development and training are now more important than ever!

We are committed to sustainable development and believe that repeated exposure is the key to long-term success.

FUTURE LEADERS

The Believe Institute Future Leaders Program has many facets. We host a Future Leaders Conference every year, where secondary schools in the National Capital District send 10-15 of their top students for a two-day leadership training conference.

Delegates at the conference are given the opportunity to apply for a 6-week training program (Future Leaders Excellence Program) designed to enhance the leadership development content covered at the conference. This further develops their skills and leadership capacity. In 2020, 71 students completed this program, and we received positive feedback from principals, teachers, parents, and students alike.

In 2020, we also piloted the Future Leaders Training Program as part of a school syllabus. The Believe Institute Team ran a weekly session at Paradise College for each student from Grade 9 to Grade 12, for two terms (6 months) of the year, with the aim of expanding the curriculum to four terms (12 months) by 2022. Other private schools have expressed an interest in implementing the programme as well.

We propose that the Future Leaders Training Program be included as a weekly subject in the Education Department's curriculum for students in grades 9 through 12.

Leaders of Excellence

The Leaders of Excellence programs are designed specifically for a tertiary level audience. They are extensions of the Future Leaders high-school age program, and are intended to stand alone or build on knowledge gained through this program at the school level. Our aim at Believe Institute is to work with the communities we are a part of to serve their needs and bring what we can to help address the issues. All of our programs are flexible and can be easily tailored to meet the specific needs of a university.
